About Dr Sascha Edelstein
MPhil MMed MBChB FCOG FRANZCOG Certificate Reproductive Medicine (SA)
Dr Sascha Edelstein is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the Fertility Society of Australia. He has been a successful Fertility Specialist since qualifying with a Certificate in Reproductive Medicine in 2008 (University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa). After completing his specialist training as an Obstetrician Gynaecologist, Sascha undertook research in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, obtaining an MPhil and MMed (UCT) for this work.
Sascha spent some time working at the Royal Free Hospital (London) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before deciding to specialize. After completing his academic training (UCT), Sascha moved into private practice as an Obstetrician Gynaecologist with special interest in Reproductive Medicine. In 2013 he became the Medical Director of the Holistic Assisted Reproduction Treatment (HART) Clinic at the Chris Barnard Hospital in Cape Town. Sascha worked at the HART Clinic until he was invited to join the inaugural team opening Primary IVF, now Adora Fertility, in Melbourne (2016). Sascha has been presented with various academic awards and scholarships for his research work in the past.
Sascha takes a very personal interest in fertility medicine, given that he and his wife went through assisted reproduction in order to conceive their two children. As a result, he has a deep understanding of the psycho-social journey that couples and individuals go through when undergoing fertility treatment.
