Same sex female couples have the option of egg sharing (also known as reciprocal IVF or partner IVF). With reciprocal IVF, the eggs of one partner are used in an IVF cycle to create embryos with a sperm donor. The embryo is then transferred into the uterus of the other partner. This means one partner will have the opportunity to carry and birth the baby and the other partner will be the genetic parent.

What treatment options are available?

Same sex female couples can access IVF treatments using donor sperm, with the option to use their own eggs or donor eggs. Common treatments include Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) with donor sperm or a full IVF cycle involving donor sperm.
