Geelong couples desperate for children must decide between lengthy public IVF waitlists, unaffordable private fees or gruelling 200km round trips for bulk-billed treatment. When Abby Blundy and her partner faced unexplained infertility, they were confronted with a choice: spend more than $10,000 per IVF cycle at Geelong’s only private clinic, join lengthy public waitlists, or travel 100 kilometres each way to access bulk-billed treatment in Greensborough. Ms Blundy said the trip to Greensborough was well worth it to be able to access care so quickly.
