About Dr Paul Atkinson

Dr Paul Atkinson is the National Medical Director at Adora Fertility and holds the highest qualification for a fertility specialist, the RANZCOG subspecialty Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). CREI is a qualification held by fewer than 100 specialists in Australia and is awarded after a minimum of three years’ additional training. This makes him an expert in all areas of infertility including IVF, reproductive endocrinology, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, male infertility, recurrent miscarriage and egg freezing.

Dr Paul has an exemplary academic record. He completed high school in Brisbane as both College Captain and Dux, and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Sydney, ranking in the top 0.1% nationally in the medical school entrance exam. Dr Atkinson undertook his specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney before attaining his CREI. Following this, he completed a year-long fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC). He also holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales.

Passionate about helping all individuals and couples achieve their dream of a healthy pregnancy, Dr Paul has a special interest in donor cycles and working with LGBTIQA+ individuals and couples, and single women to achieve their family planning goals. He chose to work at Adora Fertility because he is passionate about providing affordable, accessible, high quality, evidence-based fertility treatment so more people can achieve their dream of growing a family. Dr Paul is known for his expertise, skill and thorough approach, personalising each treatment plan to the unique needs of his patients to help achieve the best possible outcomes.

Outside of his role at Adora Fertility, Dr Atkinson is an examiner for the CREI qualification for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). He currently sits on the Executive of the IVF Medical Directors’ Group. He is driven by learning and expanding his knowledge, not just in medicine and science, but also in the humanities and the arts. In 2018, Dr Atkinson took a year’s break from medicine and lived in Paris where he obtained a diploma in French cuisine and cooking.
