I am living remotely
At Adora Fertility, we believe that no matter where you live you should be able to access bulk-bill fertility treatments to grow your family. For many people living in regional and rural Australia, bulk billed IVF clinics are not available locally which is why we provide remote care options for people to access our services.
Our remote care options include appointments via telehealth and monitoring completed locally with results sent straight to your Adora Fertility Specialist. Patients generally only need to attend the Adora clinic in person for egg and sperm collection and embryo transfer procedures.
Even with the cost of travel and accommodation, treatment at one of our bulk-bill clinics is often significantly cheaper than accessing private clinics locally, if available.

Remote Care Options
GP Appointments
Prior to treatment you (and your partner if applicable), will need to have an appointment with a GP to undertake a Fertility Assessment. Adora Fertility provides several options to make this as convenient as possible.
- Telehealth with an Adora GP (available in most states)
You can meet with an Adora GP in the comfort of your own home via Telehealth. This is not covered by Medicare, so a small fee will apply.
- InstantScripts
InstantScripts conduct online appointments and is another good option from the comfort of your own home. For a fee of $49, they will provide what you need to get started with one of our Fertility Specialists. You can book a GP appointment online via InstantScripts by clicking here for male patients and clicking here for female patients.
- An appointment with your local GP
If you’d prefer to see your own GP, we can advise on the tests they’ll need to order. Test results can be sent straight to your Adora Fertility Specialist.
Monitoring
We partner with a range of pathology providers to undergo your required blood tests and scans. They are located all over Australia and many of them offer bulk billing options. We can recommend the pathology clinic closest to you. Test results will be sent directly to your Adora Fertility Specialist.
Fertility Specialist Appointments
Enjoy quality fertility care with your choice of fertility specialist from the comfort of your home with appointments conducted via Telehealth.
Medications
We will provide you with prescriptions to collect your medications from a pharmacy that is convenient for you. It is also possible to have your prescriptions delivered (depending on the pharmacy there may be a small fee involved).
Procedures
- Egg Collection
You will need to travel to an Adora Fertility clinic for your egg collection procedure. At Adora, egg collections are performed under deep sedation in the presence of an anaesthetist. The procedure itself takes approximately 15-20 minutes, but you will need to take the rest of the day to rest and recover. You should not drive a car within 24 hours of your procedure, and you will need to remain within one hour travelling time of appropriate medical attention in the 24-hour post-discharge period.
- Fresh Embryo Transfer
If you have a fresh embryo transfer, this typically takes place five days after egg collection. Depending on where you live you may choose to stay or return home and travel back for your fresh embryo transfer.
- Frozen Embryo Transfer
Future embryo transfers from frozen embryos only require one day attendance at an Adora Fertility clinic, and you can resume most normal activities afterwards.

Patient Travel Subsidies
Government run patient assisted travel schemes are available to help offset the cost of travelling for specialist medical services not available locally.
