Like many of you, we have read recent media articles which report that some of our peers in the IVF industry are paying their IVF Specialists bonuses based on the number of IVF cycles they perform in a year.
We thought it would be a good opportunity to give you some understanding around how we work here at Adora Fertility.
First things first; PAdora Fertility does not pay its independent general practitioners (GPs) bonuses based on the number of fertility cycles performed. In fact, GPs and Specialists at Primary IVF do not receive any additional bonuses based on volume or profit milestones.
All of the GPs and Specialists at Adora Fertility are independent contractors. They are not shareholders, and receive no equity in Adora Fertility or Healius health care when they choose to practice with us. Just as importantly, it means they are completely independent in their decision-making and provide clinical guidance based on what’s in the best interest of the patient.
Clinically led decision-making
Unlike many other providers, at Adora Fertility your first consultation is with a GP in our team. The role of the GP is to make sure you and your partner are in the best possible health to begin your IVF journey. They are not incentivised in any way to refer you on to a Fertility Specialist, and often work with couples over the course of several months to ensure they are healthy enough to proceed with the IVF process.
A team-based approach
Undergoing IVF can be a physically and emotionally trying time. You need a team of supporters to help you through the process. Whilst friends and family will often be key to providing you the emotional support you need, it’s also vital that you have a full range of health professionals on hand.
At Adora Fertility, we take a team-based approach to your IVF treatment. You will have a number of people including GPs, Specialists, Counsellors, Dieticians and support staff involved in your treatment. You are not the patient of a single Specialist, but a patient of the entire Primary IVF team who are devoted to helping you through your journey.
If you feel like you need help, please request a consultation through your Adora Fertility clinic. Bulk Billed IVF is now available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. If you would like to speak to a Adora Fertility expert in more detail, please find the closest location here.
